She was developed with six fingers on each hand as well as on June 5th 2010 she married her stunt-man fianc in the fairytale ceremony in a Moorish Castle in Andalucia, Spain.

Gemma Arterton wore a flowing strapless white dress and a veil and they also exchanged their vows against a picturesque setting. The couple met within the 007 film “Quantum of Solace” in 2008 when she would have been a Bond Girl and that he was obviously a stuntman.

Arterton was born in Gravesend, Kent with polydactyly (an additional digit about the fingers or toes). Her father had it and for that reason did her grandfather. A doctor who delivered her tied off the extra fingers and they also fell off, leaving small scars.

Her parents divorced when she was 5-years old and her father re-married when she was 7-years-old so her single mother brought Gemma and her younger sister Hannah Jane through to a housing estate in Gravesend.

She worked as a make-up sales girl and took a performance arts course at the Miskin Theatre in Dartford, portion of North West Kent College after which it trained for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on a full grant.

Arterton won her first professional role in Stephen Poliakoff’s “Capturing Mary” while she was still being at Drama School, she also made her stage debut as Rosalind in Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost” on the Globe Theatre in London in July 2007 before graduating later that year.

Her film debut was in the 2007 St Trinians film when she beat Sienna Miller for the role as Head Girl. The following year she was chosen to be Bond Girl Strawberry Fields in “Quantum of Solace” from 1500 candidates.

She also acted protagonist inside BBC adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s “Tess from the D’Urbervilles”. Her most controversial film role was in “The Disappearance of Alice Creed in 2009″ through which her character was kidnapped and abused in lots of graphic nude scenes.

She was nominated for the BAFTA with this performance and she was nominated again to be with her role in “Tamara Drewe” when she unquestionably leading role.

The film took it’s origin from a weekly comic strip serial by Posy Simmonds published from the Guardian Review section. The strip is predicated upon a modern re-working of Thomas Hardy’s 19th Century novel “Far Through the Madding Crowd.”

The film was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2010 and won the 2009 Prix de la Critique.

Gemma Arterton is extremely beautiful and prefers to wear minimum make-up as she likes the natural look. She believes an excessive amount of make-up makes her look old, so she frequently visits events without wearing any mascara.

It seemed an unlikely pairing, the daughter of your evangelist along with a Christian pastor plus the notorious womaniser, but when Katy Perry met Russell Brand he swept her off her feet.

She tamed him and he lost the battle his life being a lothario, so you cannot imagine either ones being with other people.

We were holding married on October 23rd 2010 with the exclusive Arman-I-Khas resort near the Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Sanctuary in Rajasthan in India looking at 80 in the couple’s closest friends and family. His wedding given to her was a female Bengal tiger called Machli and she or he gave him a baby elephant, both living at the Ranthambore Reserve.

Their traditional Hindu wedding was conducted by the long-time family friend of Perry’s family and was completely too much. It involved 21 camels, elephants and horses, plus dancers and musicians. She wore a sari with henna designs painted on her hands as well as the trees in the resort were decorated with white and gold lights and the tents were decorated with flower garlands.

It absolutely was all so not the same as her humble beginnings. Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson came to be on October 25th 1984 in Santa Barbara, California where her parents still live. She took her mother’s maiden name Perry as her stage name when she begun to make her mark from the music industry, because Katy Hudson was too similar to film actress Kate Hudson.

She was incorporated into her parents’ Ministry and sang into their church between your ages of nine and seventeen. She spent their childhood years only paying attention to gospel songs as she has not been allowed to tune in to what her parents called “secular music.”

She copied her sister who practised singing to cassettes when she wasn’t around Perry would consider the tapes and rehearse the songs.

Her parents suggested she needs to have vocal coaching and she or he began to have lessons. When she was 16 she enrolled in the music activity Academy in the West in Santa Barbara.

Her church singing attracted the eye of rock veterans from Nashville and they took her there to polish her ability as a copywriter. She begun to record demos and was taught by country music veterans to craft songs and have fun playing the guitar. She signed while using Christian music label Red Hill and recorded her first album with the day of 15-years-old.

When she was 17-years-old she left the Academy and transferred to Chicago to work by using an album while using Island record label.

She became known for her unconventional kind of dress just as much as her singing. Her clothes combined bold colours and vintage fashion, and she or he used fruit-shaped accessories, particularly water melons, during her outfits. Her figure-hugging latex costumes soon became her trademark.

T had been reported within the Daily Mail that her mother disliked her daughter’s music and called it “shameful and disgusting,” but Perry said her mother was misquoted.

Her initial couple of singles “You Are So Gay” and “I Kissed a Girl” which topped the International charts, received negative reactions from the religious and also the gay sectors of society. One lot said the songs were homophobic and the others said she was promoting homosexuality.

Perry dated Gym Class Heroes front man Travie McCoy for countless years after meeting him within a recording studio in New york city. They split up in 2008, began dating again early the following year but finally split 3-4 months later.

She first met Brand during the summer of 2008 when she had a cameo role in the film “Get Him for the Greek” however they didn’t be a couple until she met him again on the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009 when he was the host.

3 months later he proposed to her on New Year’s Eve when they were on holiday in India and he have not stopped smiling since their wedding, saying all they are doing is laugh.

They spent Thanksgiving 2010 with her family in Santa Barbara and her father said he cannot have wished for any better son-in-law than Russell. “He makes my girl so happy. She’s so happy and hubby makes her illuminate. They will be okay.”

Cult books and underground comix have recently hit the mainstream and emerged into the broader public consciousness so here is a primer about what they really are.

Underground comics or underground comix as they are spelt with a deliberate misspelling of the word comics to distinguish them from the main stream comics are an independent version of mainstream comics that deal with more grown up issues and socially relevant themes as well as more taboo subjects that most of mainstream media is afraid to deal with or unable to deal with due to censorship or standards and broadcast regulations. Underground comix are themselves not regulated as they fall afoul of the standards and rules of the body that regulates comics and illustrated publications in the United States of America, the Comics Code Authority which is more commonly known as the CCA. You will have seen the tiny logo of the CCA on most mainstream comics that comply with CCA standards. Since underground comics deal with and depict with imagery things like violence and use of illegal drugs along with sexuality and a whole lot of of other subjects that are highly taboo and forbidden to mainstream publications they cannot be printed or distributed like normal publications.

Instead cult books and underground comics are printed or self published in most cases by the artists or the authors or they may be printed at independent printing presses in very small runs with limited numbers. Since they cannot be sold in regular stores their distribution also takes place hand to hand and through trading among fans. They are thus instant collectibles in the underground circuit that has a cult following of this genre of art. The genre of cult books and underground comics started in the United States of America in the late 1920′s and the first examples of the art form were comics which depicted the popular main stream characters of the era in sexual and pornographic acts. Due to this they earned the ire of the owners of the authorities and the copyright holders and this served to drive them further underground. Over the years the underground comic scene has dealt with many subjects that were extremely taboo at the time such as when rock and roll music first came on the scene in the late fifties and was denounce by the church and the state as the music of the devil and rock records were smashed and burned these comix were a champion of rock and roll music.

Today with most taboos broken this form of art has been absorbed into the mainstream and underground comix are sold at high end stores and specialty outlets that cater to fans as well as affluent collectors. The earliest and most prized examples of this art form are now highly prized collectors items that are traded on the market for large sums of money.By Finchley Bows

Paul Poiret, has often been called the first designer, the creator of bohemian chic and even crowned himself the ‘King of Fashion’. His height of popularity was in the early 1900′s before the first world war.

Born in Paris in 1879, it was evident, from a young age, that Poiret showed ingenuity and a flare for artistic design. His creativity was encouraged by his mother and 3 sisters but not so much from his father and in the late 1890′s he was forced to become an assistant to an umbrella maker. The plan backfired however as he used the left over silk remnants of fabric to design couture creations that he had sketched, onto a 15 inch wooden doll given to him by his sisters.

Poiret’s first acceptance into the world of fashion came via Madeleine Cheruit, a well known parisian designer, who purchased several of his sketches. He would later go on to work as an apprentice stitcher for Jacqes Doucet and another huge fashion name of the time Charles Fredrick Worth. He eventually opened his own fashion house, with financial aid from his mother, in 1903.

After the very structured, corseted, S-shaped look of the late 1800′s, Poiret’s move into very loose, draped silhouette dresses, was a welcome change for women. He pioneered in elegant drapings, although this might have largely been down to the fact that he had no real technical training. One of his first dresses was called La Vague as it swirled around the body like a gentle wave. It is because of these designs, that he is the designer credited with freeing women from corsets. He was the first designer to use turbans and harem pants and had some very startling inventions, such as the ‘lampshade tunic’ and the ‘hobble skirt’, a skirt made so narrow at the ankles it made you hobble. He was also the first to brand other items including perfumes, cosmetics and home furnishings.

Poiret was highly influenced by the art of the day, such as classicism, orientalism and symbolism and it was the Ballet Russes in 1910 (based on the Arabian Nights folk tales) that gave him the idea for his legendary fancy dress ball ‘The Thousand and Second Night) if you weren’t in fancy dress or in one of his own creations you were asked to leave. Calling himself a fashion tyrant, he loved to throw parties and and surrounded himself with all the top designers, painters and illustrators of the day. It was this kind of extravagance that would see him broke and bankrupt by the early 1920′s. With the arrival of Coco Chanel’s elegant tailoring and neutral colors, his fashions were soon out of favor. He famously called Chanel ‘the inventor of luxurious wretchedness’ and upon meeting her Poiret asked “Who is the lady mourning, madame? “To which the spirited Chanel replied,’ For you, monsieur. ‘

In 1911, a photographer by the name of Edward Steichen used gowns by Poiret to promote fashion as a fine art by the use of photography. These photographs were published in the April 1911 issue of the magazine Art et Décoration, this is now considered to be the first ever modern fashion photography shoot.By Jessica Inveninato

Do you wonder how tall the popular superstar is? Have various photographs with other celebrities made you curious about his height? This article will explain how tall Usher Raymond really is.

Usher Raymond’s artist name is Usher. He was brought up in Texas and he was born October 14, 1978. Usher has sold millions of tracks and is one of he most famous R&B artists of all time – he has over seven albums and started his music career in 1992. He also helped bring up Justin Bieber and is a businessman with his own record label. One one of his best albums was called confessions and had the highest first week sales for an R&B artist in history.

Many people have seen Usher next to many celebrities, especially tall ones such as Barack Obama and made people want to find out how tall he is – he seems tiny compared to Obama who is 6’1″. Usher only looks slightly taller than fellow musician Justin Bieber who is around 5 foot 4. The celebrity has never given away his actual height, so experts have tried to predict his height with help from pictures taken with celebrities with known heights. The conclusion is for Usher to be around the range of 5″7.5 (five foot, seven and a half inches – 8 foot. This is a few inches smaller than the average 5 foot 9/5 foot 10 of most Americans.

Many people say he doesn’t seem as short as this in his music videos and other ceremonies, but compared to other people of different heights he looks shorter.
Everyone has had those nights where everything was just perfect, the bartenders were hot, the bar had a great unique atmosphere, drinks were cheap and you met plenty of fun new people! These are our top eight things that contribute to a lovable bar! And where do we start? With the bathrooms of course!

Clean bathrooms
A survey sponsored by Kimberly-Clark found that 77% of consumers consider a dirty restroom indicative of the overall level of cleanliness in an establishment. 63 percent of the polled women avoided using the restroom, simply because it is not up to their standards of cleanliness. Signage is vital, too. Asking where the toilet is at the bar is not something women want to do, and nor should they have to.

People will have plenty of time to review your bar while they are in the bathroom, so hang a stylish mirror, choose design lighting that works, choose elegant fixtures, and buy a quality toilet. There are even people who’ll return to your bar just because they love your soap so much.

No loud music
We go out to talk to friends, and to meet new people. We don’t like to shout over the music just because the DJ thinks he should crank up the volume all the way. I’ve been in places where everybody was just standing in corners, not talking, not having fun. There have been studies that observed the effects of structural components of music (volume, tempo and tonality) with consumer behavior. It turns out that people drink more when loud or fast music is played.

However, a returning customer is much more valuable. Ask your guests if loud music is a problem if you don’t know. I’ve been to bars where they don’t play music at all, and I’ve never had so many fun quick conversations with people I didn’t know!

Cheap drinks
Going out has become a lot more expensive in the last years, and in the more classy establishments I keep seeing those aluminum 25 cl Heineken bottles, that costs as much as a regular bottle used to cost. Of course we don’t expect to have a great night out for free, but spending 80 bucks on drinks and entrance isn’t much fun, and fun is exactly why we go out. This is one of the reasons bars in Eastern Bloc are so great, you’ll have a great night out and you’ll spend almost nothing!

Atmosphere
It is a commonly-held industry belief that changing the lighting and sound creates a better atmosphere for drinking. Music and dancing is part of the fun in a bar. I’ve had many nights out ruined because of music choice. Find out what music fits for your bar, and choose not to play the standard Alcatech shuffle playlist, but choose a genre you like. Play smooth jazz, almost everyone likes this, even if some people won’t admit this.

Entertainment
Good entertainment choices will fill a bar. Especially when it’s still early in the evening, we like playing on pinball machines or slot machines. We also love playing pool with our friends, or a competitive game of darts. Karaoke will always draw a crowd from those who want to be stars and others who love to watch and laugh at the mistakes.

Themed bars
It is great to have a completely new and fun experience when going out, and that’s why we love to go out in the most unusual bars and nightclubs in the world. There are amazing bars such as Big Baobab Bar in South Africa, which is inside the hollow 155 ft circumference trunk of a 72 ft tall Baobab tree. In Espit Chupitos in Barcelona, Spain, the bartenders love to set the bar on fire and breathe flames!

Who doesn’t know the famous ice bars in London, Paris, Sweden and Dubai? Bars like these create the opportunity to tell some cool and unique stories to your friends when you return home.

We feel at home
When we go to our favorite places, we should feel at home. The staff should be really friendly, and know its regular guests. A coffee bar or lounge should have a laidback atmosphere where you feel safe and where you can enjoy yourself. You should be able to dress pretty much however you want and fit right in any age range. In a brown café in Amsterdam you’ll meet people much older or younger than you, and it doesn’t feel like it matters. One of the fun things of going out is meeting people you didn’t know you like!

Happy hour!
A bar that feels empty will most likely stay empty. When there’s at least a few people inside, and people see them having fun through the windows, it makes it much more attractive to go inside. So how to get people inside in the less busy hours? Organize a happy hour! Happy hours promotions reach far and wide. We love finding great drink specials and sharing them with others!

Toddlers are attracted greatly towards songs and colorful videos. Learning could be made fun using these aids as children grasp the message efficiently from these utilities unlike using books or boards. Teaching alphabets are not an exception and kids learn the ABC’s effortlessly through a variety of alphabet songs on hand.

The alphabet song was first patented by Charles Bradlee in 1985 and it was composed using a piano. The tune for this song was the same as the popular rhyme twinkle twinkle little star and baa baa black sheep. The fascinating fact is that this tune was composed by Mozart when he was 25 years old.

There are many popular versions of the English song in the US, UK and many other countries. With UK and US the song is the same, apart from the “z” pronunciation and the “lmnop” lyric is repeated twice in the UK variant.

The lyric of the English alphabet song is as follows

a-b-c-d-e-f-g
h-i-j-k-lmnop
q-r-s-t-u-v
w-x-y and z
Now I know my ABC’s

Next time won’t you sing with me?

The alphabet song is as well taught using phonetic sounds. Another admired alphabet song is where each letter stands for something like A for Apple, B for Boy etc. There is also a “backward variant” available in which the alphabets are sung in the reverse order as the name implies.

Parents and teachers should find ways and methods of teaching that catch the attention of kids. Probably they can sing the song together with the child. At first you might think that the kid is not at all listening or joining you while singing but sooner or later they will learn the alphabets well than you could imagine.

You can download almost every version of the alphabet song for free from a number of websites in the form of MP3, video, and karaoke which makes alphabet learning an enjoyable activity.
